About Stowe Family Law

Stowe Family Law is the UK’s largest specialist family law firm. With over 30 years of experience our professional team of divorce solicitors and family lawyers can help in whatever your situation.

The firm was founded by Marilyn Stowe in 1982, in a converted cobbler’s shop in Halton, East Leeds. In the years since, the firm has extended its presence throughout the UK. We now have numerous branches nationwide including our head office in Harrogate, North Yorkshire.

In February 2017 Marilyn Stowe sold the firm and retired. As part of the management buy out, private equity firm Livingbridge have invested in the next phase of Stowe Family Law’s expansion. We are now focused on opening more offices across the UK, bringing our outstanding legal advice to locations convenient to our clients.

We only practice family law, which ensures we attract the best family lawyers who excel in something they are passionate about. The breadth of knowledge across the firm means, no matter what your personal situation, you can be assured that we have handled cases similar to yours.

Within our 70-plus strong team of family lawyers we have a dedicated children’s department and an international family law department. All our solicitors specialise within distinct areas. Our comprehensive range of legal services includes a dedicated wills, tax, trust and probate department. We are also one of the few legal firms to offer in-house forensic accountancy specialists, helping clients establish the true value of assets and achieve full financial disclosure.
